Hey! I'm Aislinn ("Ace-lyn"), a 1st year graduate student in the Mathematics and Statistics Department at McGill University
I enjoy thinking about the interactions between topology/geometry, combinatorics, and group theory (what's not to like?)
My current research concerns the complexity and structure of positive genus surface braid groups, with emphasis on the word problem, automata theory, and Garside structures.
More broadly, I am interested in configuration spaces and related moduli-like spaces. I would like to learn more about the homotopy-theoretic and operadic techniques that relate these spaces to algebraic structures commonly found in low-dimensional topology, braid/knot theory, and geometric group theory.
